Hear it from our staff

Working here at riverbend has not only brought me out of my shell when it comes to people. But it also grew me closer to the Lord. I'm so glad and thankful I got to work here and cant wait to have the chance to come back next year!!!

Working at Riverbend has had a lasting impact on my life by strengthening my leadership, walk with Christ, and my ability to serve others. By working with other staff, I have learned the importance of patience, teamwork, and putting others before myself. Riverbend has helped me grow in confidence and trust God more in every situation. This experience has shaped the way I lead, love, and live both during the summer and retreat season.

Coming into working here, I was looking for a way to serve others in a fulfilling way, and Riverbend fit that from day one. What I didn’t realize was that while I was a part of the refuge of so many others, God used Riverbend to help me find my refuge in Him. Now I’m going on into the life He has for me, not alone, cherishing work, and full of hope. Thank you, Riverbend.

Riverbend showed me how much I can work hard for Jesus! I know now that no matter what the world throws at me, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I have so many great friends, and I have made an impact on the Kingdom!

Riverbend as made a huge impact on my life because I get to meet, work, and spend quality time with new people who become like family after summer. It has also impacted me by being able to serve campers and doing all that we camo so people can experience Christ while there on camp. Riverbend is hard work but it is so worth it to grow your walk with Christ and to help other people improve their walk or experience him for the first time.

Before Riverbend: non-confrontational, insecure, afraid, far from the lord.
After Riverbend: I got baptized! I learned how much God can use me and the power I have through him! No longer afraid or insecure, and I now have a firm foundation in Christ.

I think the impact Riverbed made on my life was showing me what it’s like to truly follow Christ and what hard work looks like and serving the Lord also spending my summer doing something for God rather than myself. You also get a great community and some amazing friends.

Riverbend pushed and tested me in ways I didn’t expect, but in the end it taught me a major lesson of servitude and work ethic, and throughout my time here I realized how big of an impact I can have by surrendering to God and walking in service to others and showing Christ’s love, which, above all is the most valuable thing to me, thank you Riverbend.
